Tyson Fury enjoyed a lively discussion with Johnny Nelson and Spencer Oliver live on talkSPORT as he disagreed with the pair prediction that Anthony Joshua will beat him when they meet.
Nelson, the former WBO cruiserweight champion and former European super-bantamweight champion Oliver are now expert pundits and regularly appear on Sky, as well as talkSPORT.
In recent weeks, they have both given their predictions for a possible Fury vs Joshua super fight and both believe AJ would come out on top.
Fury appeared on White and Jordan on talkSPORT and was quick to take the pair to task regarding their opinions.
Oliver began: “It’s a tough fight, let’s be realistic about this.
“Tyson, I’m sure you’re gonna agree with this as well – you two are the two elite heavyweights in the world.
“For me it’s a flip of a coin, it’s all about styles. Styles make fights.
“Anthony Joshua, as we know, throws shots fast, quick, through the middle, he’s heavy handed.”
Fury interrupted: “Spencer, you don’t need to grill us through all of boxing.
“We all know boxing, we’ve been in it all our lives. Who’s gonna win and why?”
Oliver answered: “Well I’m gonna pick Joshua to win just from his all-round boxing ability and-”
But a stunned Fury interrupted again: “You think Joshua’s got more boxing ability than the ‘Gypsy King’?”
Oliver responded: “His all-round boxing ability. What I’m saying is the whole package.”
And Fury said: “All-round boxing ability? The man who got knocked out by Andy Ruiz and jacked in the corner? All-round boxing ability?
“I’ve got more boxing ability in my little toe than he’s got in his whole body.”
Oliver replied: “But Tyson, you learn from those mistakes.
“He learned from that first Ruiz fight, he went out to Saudi and he put on a boxing masterclass.”
Fury hit back: “Oh, that’s a boxing masterclass now, is it?
“It was like watching paint dry to me. Come on Spencer, tell them how he’s gonna beat me.”
At this point Nelson intervened.
Fury recently said in an interview that he was less than pleased with Nelson for his prediction, but the pundit was not budging from his position.
He said: “Listen, when you pick someone, it’s an opinion, it’s not personal.
“I personally say Anthony Joshua because if it’s a dog fight I’m going for Anthony Joshua.”
Fury shouted back: “A dog fight? When have you seen him in a dog fight and come out on top?”
Nelson said: “It’s about opinion. Dog fight I’m saying AJ, technically [it’s Fury] every day of the week.
“It’s about the game plan on the day of the fight, this is not a personal attack, this is just an opinion.”
Fury interrupted once more: “I respect everybody’s opinion, but there’s got to be some merit.
“On what merit have you ever seen Anthony Joshua win a dog fight? Name one time.
“I’ve been in loads of them and always come out on top, he’s been in one and lost it. Joshua ain’t man enough for me.
“Have you ever seen a hot knife go through butter before? That’s what I will do that that bodybuilding plastic b*****d.”
