McGregor hit back at a Twitter user’s remark that England ‘can have him’ in response to an article, which described the proud Irishman as ‘English’.

The user describes herself as a ‘Certified Suicide Intervention Specialist’ in her Twitter bio, which McGregor picked up on.

“Suicide intervention yet ridiculing me in this manner online, at this horrendous time in my life,” he tweeted. “I am trying to stay strong for my kids and the people that rely on me and that love and support me. Thanks for the insults, hypocrite.”

He later wrote: “I can’t go on like this man. I am crushed here.”

This tweet was deleted, but not before concerned fans were able to screen shot it.

McGregor has recently spent the last few weeks in Corsica with his fiancee Dee Devlin.

He could be re-arrested pending some ‘key physical test results’ that took place while he was in custody amid accusations of indecent exposure to a young married woman.

The Irishman was supposed to be participating in a 180km marathon endurance alongside Princess Charlene of Monaco in a bid to raise awareness of water safety. He has now pulled out of the event which began a couple of days ago.

One of McGregor’s representatives told TMZ the former two-weight UFC champion ‘vigorously denied any misconduct.’

UFC president Dana White believes a lot of McGregor’s problems stem from his lifestyle.

“That kind of a life, crazy s*** happens when you’re in that type of lifestyle,” he told reporters after UFC Vegas 10.

“You try to go out and act normal and be normal, and it’s hard to do sometimes.

“I’m not defending Conor in any way, shape, or form. I don’t know enough about the situation to talk about it all. But I do know I’ve gone out with him before, and it’s bats*** nuts.”
