WWE’s annual TLC pay-per-view is happening this Sunday – and it is set to be a great show.
Roman Reigns defends his Universal Championship against Kevin Owens, while AJ Styles challenges Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship in Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches.
Wrestlers tend to go all out in this highly-anticipated pay-per-view, which can sometimes result in injury.
Below, talkSPORT.com takes a look at some of the legitimate injuries suffered by WWE stars at TLC over the years.
Kairi Sane – 2019
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair were challenging Asuka and Sane, formerly known as The Kabuki Warriors, for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in last year’s TLC main event.
The match lasted 26 minutes as The Kabuki Warriors came out on top.
Sane was on the receiving end of several dangerous spots, including a power bomb through a table, as she suffered a concussion.
Later on, Lynch could be seen rolling Sane under the ring mat so she could avoid further unnecessary contact.
After the match, Lynch broke character to call her rival a warrior on Twitter.
In January, Flair explained to talkSPORT how difficult it was to cope with Sane’s injury during the match.
When asked if Sane’s injury changed the match, she said: “It didn’t in the moment.
“I guess, everyone, how they felt afterwards is what made them feel different. In the moment, it was more it’s a tough spot.
“It’s the main event of a brutal pay-per-view and everyone has already seen Tables, Ladders and Chairs.
“It’s feeding off the crowd, going with the crowd and feeding off their reactions. So I didn’t really think anything until after.
“Obviously Kairi was hurt, but in the match I’m just thinking ‘how do we keep people invested?’ with them already seeing so many different TLC, brutal matches.”
R-Truth – 2012
R-Truth squared off against Cesaro for the United States Championship at TLC in 2012.
While the match only lasted seven minutes, with R-Truth coming up short in his pursuit of the title, he suffered a nasty gash to his knee.
He tweeted a picture to show the gruesome extent of his injury.

Aleister Black – 2019
Black had an entertaining feud with Murphy towards the back end of 2019.
Their rivalry stretched on the main card of TLC and the match itself did not disappoint.
Black’s victory over Murphy came at a cost, though, as he appeared to suffer a broken nose.
He had been on the receiving end of a Murphy knee strike, which resulted in the bleeding from his nose.
Andrade – 2019
On the pre-show of TLC, Andrade took on his rival, Humberto Carrillo.
Andrade suffered a deep gash above his left eye after a springboard crossbody move from Carrillo.
He was able to finish the match, despite the constant bleeding, as Carrillo picked up the victory.
