Report: Vince McMahon already considers Rey Mysterio’s son, Dominik, one of the top babyfaces in WWE

Dominik Mysterio has had one of the finest starts to a WWE career in living memory.

While there have been plenty of sensational rookies – see Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle – who achieved a lot in their first year with WWE, Dominik debuted at SummerSlam against a four-time world champion aged 23.

As the son of arguably the greatest high-flyer of all-time in Rey Mysterio, Dominik was wrestling royalty before he even stepped into the ring.

PWInsider reports that WWE officials consider Dominik to be in the top 25 percent, or one of the top three or four babyfaces on the RAW brand right now.

Already?! That’s pretty insane for a guy who has only had a handful of matches.
Dominik tagged with his father the night after SummerSlam, he fought Murphy in a street fight the week after and he took on Seth Rollins in a steel cage on RAW this week.

That’s quite the run and it seems like McMahon has some great plans in store for youngster.
McMahon told Dominik after his debut at SummerSlam: “Congratulations. Very few people can get that kind of reaction when they’re in the ring, no matter how long they’ve been in the business. So you should be very proud of yourself.”

Dominik has already suggested that he would like to tag team with his father and win the tag belts before his 45-year-old dad retires from the squared circle.

He’s also indicated that he intends to wrestle as Prince Mysterio eventually – in homage to his father and great uncle – and that he wants to have a singles match against his old man at WrestleMania.

Dominik seems to have the ability to become a permanent fixture on Monday nights and right now he is on there with his whole family – mother and sister included – every single week.

As we head towards the end of the year and Rey Mysterio recovers from his latest injury – which he estimates will take 4-6 weeks – we’ll start to get a solid picture of where the Mysterios are going heading into next year.
