A crime scene is currently in place on Cable Street in Tower Hamlets after the Metropolitan Police were called at 6.43pm following reports of a stabbing.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, is in non-life threatening condition. has contacted Tower Hamlets Police for comment.

In a separate incident in the capital, police have launched a murder enquiry in the borough of Brent.

Pollice officers have been investigating Neasden after a man was stabbed last Monday near the junction with Hazelwood Court.

A further attack on Sunday led to a boost in police presence in the area, with witnesses urged to speak to police.

Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have launched a probe on last Monday’s fatal stabbing, which took place just ten minutes after another attack on Neasden Lane close to the junction with Press Road.

A male victim, aged in his 40s, was rushed to hospital and has since been returned home.

The attacked was described as a lone male who fled the scene.

A third male, aged in his 30s, was attacked on Sunday in Neasden Lane North at the junction with Press Road on Sunday.

The victim’s condition is non-life-threatening, but he was also taken to hospital with stab wounds.

Detective Chief Inspector Tom Williams from Specialist Crime released a statement urging anyone with information on the attacks to come forward.

He said: “This is an investigation into three stabbings, one of which was fatal.

“We are making progress and following up a number of lines of enquiry, and our investigation is receiving really useful support from local people in and around Neasden. However, there are others who may have information that could help us.

“There were people around Neasden Lane North on the evening of Monday 11 January and on Sunday morning who will have seen or heard something of note. I need those people to come forward.”
