Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are on the campaign trail, and following Senator Harris’s VP debate, she joined her running mate for a trip to Phoenix, AZ, where the duo spoke to supporters. They visited both the American Indian Veterans National Memorial at the Heard Museum and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America’s training center, sporting their true blues in the best way. Yep, Biden and Harris tried out a subtle matching trick, opting for navy slacks and black accents, like Joe’s leather loafers and Kamala’s patent pumps, T-shirt, and protective face mask, a very important accessory — don’t you think?
The print mixing came by way of Joe’s royal-blue, striped button-down and Kamala’s Rag & Bone Lexington blazer, which is still available in many colorways, though Kamala’s classic plaid is sadly sold out. Kamala accessorized her own look with gold bracelets and gold stud earrings, and Joe toted his aviator sunglasses, looking sophisticated enough to do business, but laid-back enough to be relatable — both to each other, and to the rest of the world.
Rag & Bone is a company that values timeless, quality design, so it’s possible Kamala shopped the brand because she operates by the same principles. But even if that’s just a coincidence, it was a happy one. We appreciate the fact that Joe and Kamala seem to know fashion moments can have the same effect, even when they’re not too matchy-matchy.
