Tottenham are locked in talks with Real Madrid over a deal to re-sign Gareth Bale this summer, the Welshman’s representative has confirmed.
Bale, 31, left White Hart Lane for the Bernabeu for a then-world record fee of £87.5million in 2013, and wants to return to north London where he enjoyed six successful years between 2007 and 2013.
And Jonathan Barnett, the forward’s long-term agent, has confirmed that discussions are ongoing regarding a potential move.
“Gareth still loves Spurs,” Jonathan Barnett told BBC Sport Wales. “We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale’s camp]. It’s where he wants to be.”
Tottenham are believed to favour a loan move for Bale, who earns a reported £600,000-a-week in the Spanish capital.

In order for a deal to be sanctioned Real would need to foot at least half of his salary, if not more, as Jose Mourinho desperately looks to add more quality to his squad.
The latest developments cap a remarkable turnaround of events, with Barnett adamant in July that Bale was going nowhere.
