Anthony Joshua told Kubrat Pulev he ‘talks too much’ as their pair exchanged trash talk during their weigh-in on Friday.
The heavyweights clashed on stage during the event as members from the Bulgarian heavyweight’s team taunted the champion, which provoked a reaction.
Joshua seemingly told Pulev to tell his team to calm down, but the challenger refused to take this advice on board.
They then clashed in a fiery face off which AJ walked away from, only to return twice as they continued to talk to one another for several minutes.
A close-up video has now revealed that Joshua told Pulev: “You talk too much bro.
“Whoever you’ve been in with, these fighters, you need to get into your head you’ve got to fight someone like me.”
Pulev replied over and over again: “I respect you, but tomorrow I show you.”
AJ said: “Tomorrow we go to war. Don’t come in here running your mouth off.”
And Pulev responded: “Okay, respect, Olympic champion, world champion.”
But Joshua added: “I don’t care about that.”
Only for Pulev to again start shouting: “I respect you, but tomorrow I show you man.”
As for the weigh-in itself, Pulev stepped onto the scales first and weighed 239.7lbs (17st 1lbs 11oz).
Joshua followed up with a weight of 240.8lbs. (17st 2lbs 13oz).
Both men looked ripped and ready as they stood face to face and then exchanged heated words for several minutes.
Despite coming in a pound heavier than Pulev, AJ’s weight is in fact relatively light by his standards.
On Saturday night, the 6ft 6ins powerhouse will be competing in his tenth world title fight.
For only one of his previous nine has he weighed in lighter than he did today.
